From January 4 to 5, 2025, the 15th Young and Middle-aged Seminar of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry was held successfully in Tianjin. Jing Li, former vice president of Nankai University, director of the National Engineering Research Center of Pesticides, Prof. Qilin Zhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and researchers of the key laboratory attended the seminar. Prof. Chunming Cui, director of the Key Laboratory, delivered an opening speech.
At the seminar, participants reported their main research work in 2024 and elaborated on the 2025 research plan. During the discussion session, the participants spoke actively, made full comments on the scientific significance and innovation of the report, and put forward their own constructive opinions and suggestions on the significance of the topic and research ideas.
In the summary session, the participants had an in-depth discussion on the development of the pesticides discipline, planning for the introduction of talents, intra-laboratory cooperation, and the declaration of major projects. Everyone expressed their own views and made suggestions for the development planning of the Key Laboratory, showing a good trend of working together and seeking common development of a good situation.
The seminar has promoted the exchange and cooperation among researchers, played a great role in cultivating excellent talents, integrating research resources, and further improving the academic influence and overall competitiveness of Key Laboratory, and also injected new vitality into the scientific research work of Key Laboratory. Many young researchers have said that through this seminar, the research objectives have been clearer, the scientific research ideas have been straightened out, and they have benefited a lot.
