From October 30th to 31st, 2020, State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (Nankai University) (hereinafter, the ‘Key Laboratory’) 2020 Academic Annual Meeting and the first conference of 8th Academic Committee was successfully held at the Home of Tianjin Science and Technology Workers.
Vice president of Nankai University Chen Jun and Li Jing, academic adviser of Key Laboratory Tong Zhenhe and Li Zhengming, academic director of the committee Xi Zhenfeng and vice academic director of the committee Zhou Qilin, members of academic committee Tu Yongqiang, Qian Xuhong, Song baoan, Tang Yong, Wu Lizhu, Wang Xiangmei, Liu Yu, Xi Zhen, Zhu Xiaoqing, Cui Chunming, Chen Yongsheng, and Chen Gong attended this meeting. There was an attendance of about 150 at the meeting, including the related principals from scientific research department, strategic development department and facility division, and representatives of teachers and students. The opening ceremony was performed by vice director of Key Laboratory Tang Pingping.

It was the year of changing the term of office for the academic committee of Key laboratory at 2020, and the 8th academic committee, academic advisory committee and international advisory committee was also set up. Prof. Tang Pingping gave a brief introduction of this reshuffle and vice president Chen Jun and Li Jing awarded the appointment letters for academic advisers and the new academic board. Academician Xi Zhenfeng on behalf of the academic board made a speech and point out that the new academic board will continuously offer advice and suggestions for the development of Key Laboratory.

The director of Key Laboratory Prof. Cui Chunming at the opening ceremony introduced the work and development of the Key Laboratory over the past year. Then the invited speakers, academician Tang Yong from SIOC, Prof. Guo Xuefeng from Peking University, Prof. Chen gong and Prof. Zhao Dongbing from Nankai University gave a lecture respectively. During the flash talk, a group of distinguished scholars made a brief introduction of their research achievement in recent years, such as Prof. Bi Xihe from Northeast Normal University, associate professor Chen Chao from Tsinghua University, Prof. Cheng Xu from Nanjing University, Prof. Ding Hanfeng from Zhejiang University, Prof. Huang Xueliang from FJIRSMCAS, Prof. Li Pengfei and Prof. Li Yang from XJTU, associate professor Li Zhongshu from SYSU, Prof. Sun Yao from CCNU, Prof. Chen Zhongming from NKU, Prof. Wang Yishun from USTC, Prof. Ye Longwu from XMU, Prof. Zhu Shifa from SCUT. And these researchers also expressed their gratitude for the open fund support of the Key Laboratory. There was a heated discussion between the attendees and the speakers in terms of the related topics, showing a strong academic atmosphere.
On the afternoon of October 31st, the director of academic committee Xi Zhenfeng hosted the first conference of the 8th Academic Committee, and every member of academic committee and vice president Li Jing attended the meeting. Li Jing on behalf of Nankai University gratefully acknowledged every experts’ concern and support for the development of Nankai and Key laboratory. The conference reviewed the 2020 open fund of the Key laboratory, and emphatically discussed the future construction of Key laboratory and development planning of organic chemistry.
