On November 19, Clarivate released the list of “Global Highly Cited Scientists” in 2024, which selects top research talents from universities, research institutions and commercial organizations around the world who have a significant and extensive impact on their research fields. Four scholars from the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (Key Laboratory) have been selected, in which Academician Xianhe Bu, Prof. Xiangjian Wan and Prof. Qian Peng are in the list of Highly Cited Scientists of Cross-Discipline, and Prof. Yongsheng Chen is in the list of Highly Cited Scientists of Chemistry Discipline.

The list of Clarivate Global Highly Cited Scientists is selected annually to award natural and social scientists who have made significant contributions and global influence in their disciplines. The list of 2024 includes 3,560 candidates in 20 ESI disciplines (Mathematics in ESI is not included) and 3,326 candidates in cross-disciplines, which is based on the number of highly cited papers published in the past 11 years from 2013 to 2023. In this year, 6,636 scientists from more than 1,200 institutions in 59 countries and regions around the world were selected for the list of 2024.
