On December 11, Dr. Qikai Sun (supervised by Prof. Gong Chen and Prof. Gang He), a PhD graduate in 2024 of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (Key Laboratory) won the Bronze Award of 2024 Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Award of Science and Technology Award of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering.

The Chambroad Science and Technology Award is a national industry science and technology award set up by Shandong Lean CiXiao Foundation, funded by Shandong Chambroad Holding Group Co., Ltd, and evaluated by China Chemical Society, which aims to reward outstanding talents in the field of chemistry, chemical industry and materials to inspire more scientific researchers to devote themselves into innovation. There are four sub-awards under the Chambroad Science and Technology Award: Chambroad Science and Technology Excellence Award, Chambroad Science and Technology Innovation Award, Chambroad Science and Technology Progress Award and Chambroad Excellent Doctoral Award of Chemistry, Chemical Industry and Materials. Chambroad Science and Technology Excellence Award, Chambroad Science and Technology Innovation Award, and Chambroad Science and Technology Progress Award are selected every two years. The Chambroad Excellent Doctoral Award of Chemistry, Chemical Industry and Materials is selected evert year. The Outstanding Doctoral Award includes 1-2 gold prizes, 5 silver prizes and 10 bronze prizes, with prize money of 500,000 yuan/person, 300,000 yuan/person and 100,000 yuan/person, respectively, and the prizes are distributed between the supervisors of the winning doctoral candidates and their doctoral students in the ratio of 6:4. 2024 Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Award has a total of 17 winners across the country, among which there are 2 gold prizes, 5 silver prizes, and 10 bronze prizes.
