The "14th Forum of State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (SKLEOC) Young Investigators" was held in Tianjin from January 12 to 14, 2024. Prof. Jing Li, vice president of Nankai University, Prof. Qilin Zhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researchers from the Key Laboratory attended the meeting. Prof. Chunming Cui, director of the Key Laboratory, delivered the opening speech.
At the forum, participants reported on their main research work carried out in 2023 and presented their research work plans for 2024. During the discussion session, the attendees gave enthusiastic speeches and had a thorough discussion on the scientific significance and innovation of the report works. They also put forward their constructive opinions and suggestions on the significance of topic selection and research ideas of the reporter. This forum also monitored the application of researchers for National Funds in 2024 in order to guide applicants to streamline their thinking, improve the quality of application forms and enhance the competitiveness of fund applications of laboratory.
In the summary section, the attendees had discussion on internal cooperation within the Key Laboratory, major project applications, graduate training, talent introduction planning, as well as large-scale instruments and safety management work. Everyone actively discussed and provided suggestions for the development of the Key Laboratory, demonstrating a good trend of working together and seeking common development.
Finally, Academician Zhou encouraged everyone to carry out source innovation and actively apply for various scientific research projects to conduct useful scientific research.
This forum provided a good platform for in-depth understanding and exchange between researchers, giving strong guidance for the future development of the Key Laboratory, and playd a significant role in promoting the integration of research resources, optimizing the team structure, and improving the overall research level and core competitiveness of the Key Laboratory. All the researchers of the Key Laboratory will bear in mind the General Secretary's exhortations, keep up with the forefront of science and technology, face the major needs of the country, and write a new chapter of "Pioneering and Innovation of climbing the peak".
