On February 4th, the Chinese Chemical Society announced the list of winners of the "2023 Youth Chemistry Award of the Chinese Chemical Society", and researcher Xiao-Ye Wang from the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (Nankai University) was selected.

Award reason:

A series of innovative achievements have been made in the new boron-hetero organic photoelectric materials.

Introduction to scientific research work:

Researcher Xiao-Ye Wang received his bachelor's degree from Nankai University in 2009 and PhD from Peking University in 2014. Later, he engaged in postdoctoral research in Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany. At the beginning of 2019, he joined the school of chemistry of Nankai University, relying on the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry to carry out research independently. Researcher Wang is committed to developing a new system of organic photoelectric materials doped with main group elements. Around the scientific issues of precise construction of boron-hetero organic conjugated molecules and cooperative control mechanism of multi hetero atoms, he created a series of new boron-hetero thick ring molecular skeletons, established a synthetic method of precise doping of multi hetero atoms, revealed a new mechanism of cooperative doping and control of photoelectric process of boron and other hetero atoms. He found efficient anti-Kasha luminescent materials, realizing high-performance field-effect transistors and light detection devices, obtained the Heline-type chiral photoelectric materials with high asymmetry factor and used the organic near-infrared photosensitizers for high-efficiency upconversion luminescence, which created a new opportunity for the development of new organic photoelectric materials.
