On January 6-7, 2024, "2024 Elemento-organic Frontier Forum", organized by the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry, was held in the Academic Lecture Hall of Tiannan Joint Research Building, Nankai University. Prof. Jing Li, Vice President of Nankai University, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Pingping Tang, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory.

Li first expressed welcome to the participating experts on behalf of Nankai University, and at the same time expressed his gratitude to all the experts who had helped, supported and cared for the development of Nankai University for a long time. He expected that the participating teachers and students would disseminate the new paradigms and methods of elemento-organic synthesis chemistry through the efficient discussions in the meeting and promote the scientific research and innovation in the field of elemento-chemistry of China to a new level.

Twenty-four well-known experts and scholars from nearly 20 domestic universities and research institutions were invited to give invited reports and nearly 200 teachers and students from the Key Laboratory attended the meeting. The invited speakers demonstrated the research frontiers and hot topic in synthetic chemistry and other related fields with their respective research.

 The Key Laboratory will host a series of conferences on "Elemento-organic Frontiers" since 2021, aiming to promote the development and integration of elemento-organic chemistry and related disciplines, strengthen the exchange and cooperation in related fields by focusing on the frontiers of the discipline and enhance the international competitiveness of the Key Laboratory in the field of elemento-organic chemistry.
