On January 10–11, 2026, the 6th Elemento-Organic Frontier Forum, hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry, was held at the Lecture Hall of the Shixian Building, Nankai University. The forum invited 22 renowned experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across China to deliver keynote lectures, and was attended by more than 100 faculty members and students from the key laboratory.
On behalf of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry, Cui Chunming, Director of the laboratory, extended a warm welcome and sincere appreciation to the participating experts. He noted that elemento-organic chemistry serves as a bridge between elemental chemistry and organic chemistry and is one of the most dynamic and creative frontier fields in modern chemistry, with its achievements deeply integrated into the trajectory of scientific and technological progress and industrial innovation. He expressed the hope that this forum would spark new ideas through interdisciplinary exchange, promote the in-depth development of research in elemento-organic chemistry, and accelerate the translation and application of research outcomes.

Researchers and scholars including Ang Li (Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Shuanhu Gao (East China Normal University), Zhenlei Song (Sichuan University), Jian Zhou (East China Normal University), Yang Li (Chongqing University), Congqing Zhu (Nanjing University), Xianhong Wang (Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Xuzhou Yan (Shanghai Jiao Tong University), Shutao Wang (Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Jiangfei Xu (Tsinghua University), Guohui Li (Liaoning Normal University; Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Di Sun (Shandong University), Huan Cong (Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Shijian Su (South China University of Technology), Ziyi Ge (Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Lian Duan (Tsinghua University), Xiang Ma (East China University of Science and Technology), Feng Li (Jilin University), as well as Weiwei Zi, Dongbing Zhao, Jun Deng, and Xiaoye Wang (Nankai University), among a total of 22 experts, shared their latest advances from their respective research areas. Centering on frontier topics in synthetic chemistry, organic materials, and related interdisciplinary fields, they presented a rich academic program for faculty members and students in attendance. Throughout the forum, participants engaged actively with questions and in-depth discussions, creating a vibrant and intellectually stimulating atmosphere.

It is reported that since its inception, the “Elemento-Organic Frontiers” conference series has responded to the trend of interdisciplinary integration by adopting a compact and efficient format to build a platform for in-depth cross-disciplinary exchange. By focusing on the frontiers of the field, the series aims to strengthen communication and collaboration among related research areas and enhance the international competitiveness of the State Key Laboratory in the field of elemento-organic chemistry.
