Joint Themed Party Day Activity Held by the Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry and the Institute of Seawater Desalination

To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning among grassroots Party organizations, and promote the deep integration of Party building and scientific and technological innovation, on the afternoon of December 24, the Party General Branch of the Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry of the College of Chemistry, Nankai University, jointly carried out a themed Party Day activity entitled “Thoroughly Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC and Serving High-Quality Development with High-Level Scientific and Technological Innovation” together with the Youth Theoretical Study Group of the Tianjin Institute of Seawater Desalination and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Party Branch of the Corrosion Protection Technology Research Office. The event was held at Nankai University’s Balitai Campus.

Attending the activity were Wenli Niu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Nankai University; Haiyong Shang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Tianjin Institute of Seawater Desalination; Luofeng Liu, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Corrosion Protection Technology Research Office; Shoumin Zhang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the College of Chemistry of Nankai University; Lingyan Liu, Deputy Secretary; Chunming Cui, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry; Chuanzheng Zhou, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry; as well as other leaders and Party member representatives from both sides.

Wenli Niu warmly welcomed the delegation from the Institute of Seawater Desalination. He noted that universities and research institutes shoulder the important mission of serving national strategies and promoting scientific and technological innovation, and expressed the hope that both sides would take this joint themed Party Day activity as an opportunity to further strengthen Party building leadership, deepen collaborative innovation, and demonstrate greater achievements in tackling key core technologies and promoting high-quality development.

During the discussion session, Chuanzheng Zhou introduced the basic situation of the Party General Branch of the Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry in Party building, scientific research innovation, and talent team development. On behalf of the Youth Theoretical Study Group of the Institute of Seawater Desalination and the Party Branch of the Corrosion Protection Technology Research Office, Liu Luofeng introduced relevant practices in Party branch development and Party building–led business development.

Focusing on studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, participating Party members combined their own research and work experience to engage in in-depth exchanges, particularly on how to serve high-quality development through high-level scientific and technological innovation during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period and support the long-term goals for 2035. In discussions on collaborative innovation and pathways for tackling key scientific and technological challenges, Luofeng Liu and Chunming Cui spoke on behalf of the Institute of Seawater Desalination and the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry, respectively, and conducted in-depth discussions on deepening university–institute cooperation, strengthening complementary advantages, and jointly carrying out key technology research.

Haiyong Shang delivered the concluding remarks. He stated that the joint themed Party Day activity was rich in content and achieved clear results, and expressed the hope that both sides would continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation through Party building collaboration, promoting the implementation of more practical outcomes.

On the same day, participants visited the College of Chemistry and the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry. Shoumin Zhang provided a detailed introduction to the college and the laboratory in terms of scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, and Party building leadership.
