From May 20 to 22, 2024, the 2024 Symposium on Synthetic Chemistry was successfully held in Nankai University. The opening ceremony was delivered by Chunming Cui, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry. Director Cui welcomed and expressed gratitude to the experts who had long cared for and supported the development of various undertakings of Nankai University. He hoped that the teachers and students participating in the meeting would jointly discuss academic issues in the field of synthetic chemistry and promote scientific research and innovation in the field of synthetic chemistry of China to a new level.

Prof. Aiwen Lei of Wuhan University, Prof. Shixian Lin of Zhejiang University, Prof. Min Zhang of Chongqing University, Prof. Yaofeng Chen of South China University of technology, Prof. Jian Zhou of East China Normal University, Prof. Wenjing Xiao of Central China Normal University, Prof. Wenguang Wang of Beijing Normal University, Prof. Yonggui Chi of Guizhou University were invited to deliver reports in the symposium, and nearly 200 teachers and students of Key Laboratories attended the symposium. The invited experts showed everyone the research frontiers and hot issues in synthetic chemistry and other related fields by combining their own research field. After each report, the teachers and students had a long in-depth discussion with the experts.
