On April 27, Zhihong Mei, Deputy Director of Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Zhendong Tan, Director of Laboratory Division, Zhenxiang Wang, Director of Social Agriculture Division, Shaojie Fan, Chief Engineer of Social Agriculture Division came to the State Key Laboratory of Elemental-organic Chemistry (SKLEOC) for investigation. Chunming Cui, Director of the Key Laboratory, Bin Sun, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Research Department, Mengchun Ye, Deputy Director of the Institute of Elemental-organic Chemistry, Xiangxiang, Wan Deputy Director of the Institute of Polymer Chemistry, Professor Guofeng Zhao, Dongbing Zhao, and Huahua Sun participated in the symposium. The two sides held discussions on promoting the reorganization of state key experiments and the development of State Key Laboratory.
During the symposium, Cui warmly welcomed Zhihong Mei and his delegation and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation, restructuring plan and future development plan of Key Laboratory. He hoped that the Science and Technology Bureau would provide guidance on scientific issues and how to strengthen school enterprise cooperation.
Mei stated that the SKLEOC has a profound foundation in the early years of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It carried out research and production of pesticides in response to the country's significant demand for food, filling the gap in China and greatly promoting the development of the pesticide discipline. At present, the Key Laboratory is facing restructuring and needs to innovate in the system and mechanism. The Science and Technology Bureau will pay close attention to the development of the Key Laboratory and in serve the restructuring work.
Tan stated that a national laboratory system with Chinese characteristics should be gradually established to enhance cohesion and cultivate original innovative achievements. To develop State Key Laboratories, the first step is to solve the problem of substantiation. The Science and Technology Bureau will provide support to Key Laboratories in various aspects in the future.
After the discussion, Mei and his delegation visited the SKLEOC and the Large-Scale Instrument Platform.
