The 11th Forum of SKLEOC Young Investigators was held in Tianjin from March 13 to 14, 2021. Professor Qilin Zhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Jing Li, vice president of Nankai University, participated in the forum as senior scientists of the Key Laboratory. Deputy director Pingping Tang presided over the meeting, and director Chunming Cui delivered an opening speech.
During the forum, the Key Laboratory researchers reported their representative research results in 2020 and elaborated the work to be carried out in 2021. After the completion of the work report, the participants talked and discussed the scientific significance and innovation of the report actively. They also put forward their own constructive opinions and suggestions on the significance of the topic selection and research ideas of the reporter's project.In the last part of the summary and discussion, the staffs in charge of the instrument platform of the Key Laboratory introduced and reported their respective management work. The participants also made suggestions on the existing problems and solutions of the large-scale instrument platform.
The forum has greatly promoted the exchange and cooperation among researchers. It had great importance of cultivating excellent talents, integrating research resources, and further enhancing the academic influence and overall competitiveness of Key Laboratories. A number of young researchers have said that through this seminar, the research objectives have been more clearly defined and the scientific research ideas have been straightened out. They both benefited a lot.
The State Key Laboratory of Elemental-Organic chemistry has held this forum every year since 2011, and so far it has been held eleven sessions. The purpose of the forum is to strengthen the academic exchange within the laboratory, enhance the cohesion of scientific research. It also can make brainstorm ideas for the research characteristics and development orientation of laboratory personnel so as to achieve the purpose of common improvement.
