Recently, professor Xiaochen Wang won the "Thieme Chemistry Journals Award" academic award of 2021.
The "Thieme Chemistry Journals Award" is presented annually to emerging researchers such as assistant professors and junior professors from all around the world, who are in the early stages of their independent academic research career. The winners are selected exclusively by members of the editorial board of SYNTHESIS, SYNLETT and SYNFACTS journals, who continue to focus on promising young people in the fields of chemical synthesis and catalysis or organic chemistry. Since this award was first presented to young researchers in 1999, its goal has been to recognize and encourage a new generation of organic chemists. The award includes one-year free subscription (online and papers) and certificates from SYNTHESIS, SYNLETT and SYNFACTS. A total of 37 researchers from China have won awards this year, including two from Nankai University, namely professor Xiaochen Wang and senior engineer Dazhen Xu.
