The First Symposium on Biomagnetic Resonance of the three Universities in Beijing and Tianjin Held successfully

Source:SKLEOC   Date:2020/01/22

The first Beijing-Tianjin three universities (Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University) Biomagnetic Resonance Conference was held in Tianjin Social Hill Hotel from January 13th to 15th in 2020. This conference was organized by Nankai University and arranged carefully by State Key Laboratory of Elemento-organic Chemistry (Nankai University) (hereinafter, the “SKLEOC”).

Professor Jin Changwen, chief scientist of Peking University Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center; Professor Xia Bin; Researcher Wang Shenlin; Professor Liu Guoquan, School of Pharmacy, Peking University; Researcher Xue Yi and Fang Xianyang of Tsinghua University Advanced Innovation Center for Structural Biology; Professor Su Xuncheng of Nankai University and nearly 100 related teachers and students from the research group attended this meeting. Professor Su Xuncheng, the organizer of the conference, delivered an opening speech.

This conference focuses on magnetic resonance technology, expounds the dynamic structure and function of biological macromolecules, and deeply discusses the frontier fields and challenges of the development of magnetic resonance technology and methods. Participating experts introduced the technical principles of biological nuclear magnetic resonance, paramagnetic nuclear magnetic resonance, electron spin resonance, and small-angle scattering along with their important applications in solving key scientific problems in the biological field.

The purpose of this conference is to promote academic exchanges in the Beijing-Tianjin area and train a group of outstanding young researchers in the field of biomagnetic resonance. Another highlight of the conference was that half of the postdoctoral and graduate reports were arranged. The discussions among the participants were intense and the academic atmosphere was strong. The two-day academic report greatly promoted the mutual understanding and academic exchanges between the researchers in Beijing and Tianjin, strengthened the scientific research cooperation between the two regions, and well achieved the original intention of the conference.

The organization of the conference and the academic exchange results were unanimously praised by the participants. The academic committee determined that the Beijing-Tianjin three universities biomagnetic resonance academic seminar would be held once a year. At the end of the closing ceremony, Fang Xianyang, researcher from Tsinghua University, introduced the organizer of the next conference would be Tsinghua University, and looked forward to the meeting of participants again at Tsinghua University in 2021. The conference successfully completed its schedule and concluded successfully.

This conference was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Nankai University, and it is another gift of Nankai Chemistry and SKLEOC to Nankai University of a century.
